The economic meltdown, the election in general\u2026a lot of folks won\u2019t have much to be <\/span>grateful for this coming Thursday. <\/span>Damn, I\u2019m glad I just have the gun corner here at the Backwoods Home <\/em>blogs. <\/span>The gun stuff is enough <\/em>to be worried about.<\/p>\n

Some, on both political sides, are predicting that the new President will be too busy with real <\/em>problems to bother with illusory solutions like \u201cgun control.\u201d <\/span>If I believed that, I\u2019d be giving thanks for it before <\/em>Thanksgiving.<\/p>\n

\n

However, appointments announced thus far by the President-elect don\u2019t bode well for gun owners\u2019 civil rights. Eric Holder for US Attorney General<\/a>? The guy is \u201canti\u201d in the extreme. <\/span><\/p>\n

\n

At this writing, it has not yet been confirmed that Hillary Clinton will be our next Secretary of State,<\/a> but it\u2019s darn sure lookin\u2019 that way. <\/span>Until she tried to reinvent herself as a supporter of the Second Amendment during her failed primary campaign, Senator Clinton was extremely \u201canti,\u201d indeed, the most vocally anti-gun First Lady in history.<\/p>\n

It\u2019ll be interesting to have a Secretary of State whose husband has received so many millions of dollars from assorted foreign countries, as donations to his library and such\u2026<\/p>\n

Good that the new Prez is gonna bring us change\u2026J<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

\n

For the moment, though, I give thanks that my family and friends are together and well and still have their freedoms.<\/p>\n
