{"id":1699,"date":"2012-03-20T19:31:26","date_gmt":"2012-03-20T23:31:26","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/backwoodshome.com\/blogs\/MassadAyoob\/?p=1699"},"modified":"2012-03-20T19:31:26","modified_gmt":"2012-03-20T23:31:26","slug":"concealed-carry-permit-reciprocity-would-have-prevented-this","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.backwoodshome.com\/blogs\/MassadAyoob\/concealed-carry-permit-reciprocity-would-have-prevented-this\/","title":{"rendered":"CONCEALED CARRY PERMIT RECIPROCITY WOULD HAVE PREVENTED THIS\u2026"},"content":{"rendered":"<p style=\"text-align: left;\">On December 30, 2011, we discussed here the case of the female medical student from Tennessee who was arrested for illegal possession of a handgun in New York City, and was looking at a mandatory three years or more, plus a felony conviction that would have destroyed her career and her life.\u00a0 Of course, in many big cities in more enlightened parts of our country, her Tennessee carry permit would have rendered her perfectly legal.\u00a0 Read about it <a href=\"http:\/\/www.nypost.com\/p\/news\/national\/gun_doll_dodges_bullet_arWdHikv9PWbNSizVAhIkL\" target=\"_blank\">Here.<\/a><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\">This leaves at least one defendant with an out of state permit, who has turned down a similar plea offer, facing charges for much the same thing.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\">I haven\u2019t heard if Mayor Bloomberg has recanted his outrageous public accusation that this young woman had cocaine in her purse when arrested after declaring her firearm, or rendered a much-deserved apology.
