Well, the good news is, the likelihood of violent post-election civil disturbance just went down: those who made the threats to do so, just lost their motive.<\/p>\n
For gun owners, the bad news is obvious: a long-time opponent of gun owners\u2019 civil rights will now perceive himself to have a mandate to carry out that part of his agenda, which he so carefully avoided during his first term.<\/p>\n
My own deepest concern is what is going to happen with the Supreme Court. We will see multiple new Justices put forth soon. We need to let those who represent us on Capitol Hill know where we stand on that. President Obama made it starkly clear toward the end of the debates that he wanted to reinstate the \u201cAssault Weapons Ban,\u201d and we need to remind those elected officials who speak for us where we stand on that, too.<\/p>\n
