{"id":2073,"date":"2012-12-26T22:03:09","date_gmt":"2012-12-27T02:03:09","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/backwoodshome.com\/blogs\/MassadAyoob\/?p=2073"},"modified":"2012-12-26T22:03:09","modified_gmt":"2012-12-27T02:03:09","slug":"back-to-serious-stuff","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.backwoodshome.com\/blogs\/MassadAyoob\/back-to-serious-stuff\/","title":{"rendered":"BACK TO SERIOUS STUFF"},"content":{"rendered":"<p style=\"text-align: left;\">Media hysteria did not abate much over the holiday, and is still in full sway.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\">Here is a voice of reason from the left:\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/kontradictions.wordpress.com\/2012\/08\/09\/why-not-renew-the-assault-weapons-ban-well-ill-tell-you\/\" target=\"_blank\">http:\/\/kontradictions.wordpress.com\/2012\/08\/09\/why-not-renew-the-assault-weapons-ban-well-ill-tell-you\/<\/a><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\">Now comes a claim from Israel that their school security program is nothing like what NRA is talking about: <a href=\"http:\/\/www.cbsnews.com\/8301-250_162-57560761\/israel-rejects-nras-guns-in-schools-claim\/\" target=\"_blank\">http:\/\/www.cbsnews.com\/8301-250_162-57560761\/israel-rejects-nras-guns-in-schools-claim\/<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\">For Heaven\u2019s sake: They say they have armed security in their schools, and NRA is demanding armed security in ours.\u00a0 The difference there is exactly\u2026what?<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\">Dr. David Schiller\u2019s interview with Jews for Preservation of Firearms Ownership, \u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/jpfo.org\/filegen-n-z\/school.htm\" target=\"_blank\">http:\/\/jpfo.org\/filegen-n-z\/school.htm<\/a> , makes it clear that the armed schoolteachers in the Israeli program were trained by their civil guard, the <i>mishmar esrachi. <\/i>This is directly on point to what I\u2019m recommending: no one is saying \u201cgive guns to untrained people and make them pretend they\u2019re cops.\u201d\u00a0 A proper armed teacher program as I see it would be analogous to our country\u2019s fabulously successful FFDO program, the armed pilots who take their own time off to go through the training to become Federal Flight Deck Officers, equipped with loaded HK .40 caliber pistols.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\">Israel has armed security in their schools?\u00a0 Damn right.\u00a0 And if our schools train staff members who volunteer for such a program, they will be armed for security and will therefore BE \u2013 Duh! \u2013 \u201carmed security.\u201d<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\"><em>Edited 12\/28\/12 to add: <\/em>Fox News has just released confirmation that there are, indeed, still armed teachers in Israeli schools: <a href=\"http:\/\/www.foxnews.com\/world\/2012\/12\/27\/armed-teachers-guards-key-to-school-security-in-israel\/\">http:\/\/www.foxnews.com\/world\/2012\/12\/27\/armed-teachers-guards-key-to-school-security-in-israel\/<\/a>\u00a0.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Media hysteria did not abate much over the holiday, and is still in full sway.
