{"id":2220,"date":"2013-03-14T20:02:59","date_gmt":"2013-03-15T00:02:59","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/backwoodshome.com\/blogs\/MassadAyoob\/?p=2220"},"modified":"2013-03-14T20:02:59","modified_gmt":"2013-03-15T00:02:59","slug":"hypocrisy-alert","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.backwoodshome.com\/blogs\/MassadAyoob\/hypocrisy-alert\/","title":{"rendered":"HYPOCRISY ALERT"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>By now,\u00a0you&#8217;ve\u00a0all heard about Mark Kelly, former astronaut and the husband of Gabby Giffords, who was grievously brain-damaged in the mass murder spree by the madman Loughner in Tucson.\u00a0 After establishing his territory as a high-profile opponent of \u201cassault rifles\u201d and \u201chigh capacity magazines,\u201d he was observed and photographed buying an AR15 to go with his new 1911 .45 pistol.<\/p>\n<p>As soon as he was \u201couted,\u201d he claimed he was doing it to show how easily such armament could be acquired. (<em>Like it\u00a0wasn&#8217;t\u00a0already legal for law-abiding people to buy those guns.<\/em>) He added that he planned to give it to the Tucson Police.<\/p>\n<p>This strikes me as right up there with, \u201cYour Honor, I only bought that heroin and cocaine to get it off the street and show the world the scope of our drug problem\u2026and then I was gonna turn it over to the DEA.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>David Codrea, one of our most indefatigable fighters for gun owners\u2019 civil rights, deconstructs Kelly\u2019s lame excuse <a href=\" http:\/\/www.examiner.com\/article\/mark-kelly-s-story-on-ar-15-purchase-prompts-skeptical-open-letter?CID=examiner_alerts_article .\" target=\"_blank\">here<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>And of course, the <span style=\"text-decoration: line-through;\">gun control propaganda machine<\/span> mainstream media comes to Kelly\u2019s aid. For <i>him, <\/i>it\u2019s not an \u201cassault weapon,\u201d it\u2019s just a different kind of rifle.
