{"id":3151,"date":"2015-04-19T15:20:03","date_gmt":"2015-04-19T19:20:03","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/backwoodshome.com\/blogs\/MassadAyoob\/?p=3151"},"modified":"2015-04-19T15:20:03","modified_gmt":"2015-04-19T19:20:03","slug":"booby-and-scooby-and","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.backwoodshome.com\/blogs\/MassadAyoob\/booby-and-scooby-and\/","title":{"rendered":"BOOBY, AND SCOOBY, AND\u2026"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Last Friday I grabbed lunch at<a href=\"http:\/\/boobyscharcoalrib.com\/\" target=\"_blank\"> Booby\u2019s<\/a> restaurant in Niles, Illinois.\u00a0 Niles is right next to Park Ridge, where Hillary Rodham Clinton grew up, and it has been said that Booby\u2019s was one of her favorite hangouts in her younger days.\u00a0 No argument here: food and service were excellent.\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/backwoodshome.com\/blogs\/MassadAyoob\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/04\/Boobys.jpg\" target=\"_blank\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignright wp-image-3153 size-medium\" src=\"http:\/\/backwoodshome.com\/blogs\/MassadAyoob\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/04\/Boobys-225x300.jpg\" alt=\"Booby's\" width=\"225\" height=\"300\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.backwoodshome.com\/blogs\/MassadAyoob\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/04\/Boobys-225x300.jpg 225w, https:\/\/www.backwoodshome.com\/blogs\/MassadAyoob\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/04\/Boobys-768x1024.jpg 768w, https:\/\/www.backwoodshome.com\/blogs\/MassadAyoob\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/04\/Boobys.jpg 1080w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 225px) 100vw, 225px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>Booby\u2019s is a place for ordinary neighborhood folks to eat.\u00a0 As Mrs. Clinton, who for decades has surrounded herself with exemplars of wealth and power, attempts to reinvent herself as a champion of the middle class, her contact with mainstream Americans doesn\u2019t seem to go a whole lot farther than having eaten at Booby\u2019s.<\/p>\n<p>Mrs. Clinton, quite possibly the most anti-gun Presidential candidate in memory, is traveling the country in a van she calls \u201cScooby,\u201d whimsically named after the Scooby-doo cartoon.\u00a0 I for one see more irony than whimsy.\u00a0 As I understood it, most every episode of Scooby-doo involved someone pretending to be magical, fantastic, and marvelous, only to be revealed as a villainous fraud portraying themselves for their own benefit to be something they were not.<\/p>\n<p>What would Scooby say?
