{"id":3244,"date":"2015-08-09T21:37:07","date_gmt":"2015-08-10T01:37:07","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/backwoodshome.com\/blogs\/MassadAyoob\/?p=3244"},"modified":"2015-08-09T21:37:07","modified_gmt":"2015-08-10T01:37:07","slug":"stephen-hunter","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.backwoodshome.com\/blogs\/MassadAyoob\/stephen-hunter\/","title":{"rendered":"STEPHEN HUNTER"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>It\u2019s always a pleasure to meet a favorite author.\u00a0 This past week, I was able to introduce my class to <a href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Stephen_Hunter\" target=\"_blank\">Stephen Hunter<\/a>, who pens the Bob Lee Swagger series and is, unquestionably, more knowledgeable about firearms and their use than anyone else writing in mainstream fiction today.\u00a0 I\u2019ve corresponded with him for years, but this was my first opportunity to meet the man face to face.<\/p>\n<p>As intelligent in conversation as he is in print, Steve in the flesh is a down-to-earth regular guy, and very much One Of Us.\u00a0 The class loved his commentary on the interface between the gun culture and the mainstream media today, a topic he is eminently qualified to discuss by virtue of his many years at the <em>Baltimore Sun <\/em>and the <em>Washington Post, <\/em>from which he is now retired.<\/p>\n<p>If you haven\u2019t read Hunter\u2019s work, do yourself a favor and dip your toe in that water.
