Good to be back in the saddle.\u00a0 Thanks to ace instructor John Murphy who hosted us in Springfield, VA.<\/p>\n<p>As a rule, the evil princess and I take off from teaching from mid-December to first week in February.\u00a0 It\u2019s not a vacation \u2013 we use the time to get caught up on writing, podcasting, accounting, etc., and to squeak in a few shooting matches if we can.\u00a0 More of a sabbatical than a vacation.<\/p>\n<p>Always good to get back to teaching, though.\u00a0 When I was a kid, I figured teaching must be one of the worst jobs imaginable: teaching the same thing over and over again to people who didn\u2019t really want to learn it.<\/p>\n<p>There\u2019s teaching, though, and there\u2019s teaching.\u00a0 In the kind of adult ed I do (<a href=\"http:\/\/massadayoobgroup.com\" target=\"_blank\">http:\/\/massadayoobgroup.com<\/a>) nobody\u2019s there to get a ticket punched: the students are there because they WANT to learn, and that makes all the difference.\u00a0 It\u2019s why I love doing what I do.<\/p>\n<p>I know a lot of you reading this teach something to somebody sometimes.\u00a0 Share here what you like about it\u2026and what you don\u2019t.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Just finished our first class of 2017.
