Hell, I\u2019d need a fire extinguisher to blow out that many candles.<\/p>\n<p>It\u2019s been a fun ride, and I\u2019m thankful to still be rolling forward, if not quite as fast as I used to. Got married for the second time on June 20<sup>th<\/sup>.&nbsp; Does marriage age a man?&nbsp; Well, judge for yourself:<\/p>\n<p>That morning, my oldest kid was 41 and I had four grandchildren.&nbsp; Ten minutes later, my oldest kid was 44, I had more kids and grandkids, and I was now a great-grandfather.<\/p>\n<p>And less than a month after the marriage, I\u2019ve become a septuagenarian.<\/p>\n<p>My olditude is obviously\u2026<em>her <\/em>fault!<\/p>\n<p>&lt;&lt;Oops, error note.&nbsp; My birthday is the 20th. This was supposed to be programmed to put this entry up on that day, when I will be 3,000 miles from home in a place with poor internet connection.&nbsp; (Hey, I warned you early on I&#8217;m clumsy with these new-fangled computer things.)<\/p>\n<p>Apologies.<\/p>\n<p>And, damn, marrying that woman is aging me worse than I thought &#8212; I apparently just got two weeks older, sooner&#8230;&gt;&gt;<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Today is my seventieth birthday.
