That\nthinking comes under \u201chope is not a strategy.\u201d &nbsp;Criminals with functional IQs realize the\nnicest homes have the nicest stuff to steal.&nbsp;\nAnd criminals realize that in the sparsely populated hinterlands, there\nare fewer witnesses and the thin blue line of police is stretched particularly\nthin.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>One of the most useful, info-packed weapons and tactics forums to be found is <a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" aria-label=\" (opens in a new tab)\" href=\"http:\/\/www.pistol-forum.com\" target=\"_blank\">www.pistol-forum.com<\/a>.\u00a0 A while back, my friend and colleague Tom Givens started a discussion thread on this topic that resulted in lots of good advice, and some harrowing stories from investigating cops. It\u2019s\nimportant for everyone in the household to know not to open that door for\nanyone they don\u2019t know or can\u2019t positively identify as someone with good\nintentions.&nbsp; Intercoms and closed circuit\nTV are much more affordable now.&nbsp; Those\nof you reading this are probably into defensive awareness enough that I don\u2019t\nhave to remind <em>you <\/em>of that.
