; and<\/g> my eyesight is profoundly better.\u00a0 Shot my first match of the year today, and while I can\u2019t say my scores were any better than last year, I was able to see the whole thing a lot more clearly.\u00a0 Anytime I can shoot 54 shots at all separate targets in under 50 seconds and hit with all of them, zero points down, \u00a0with a subcompact .45, I have no complaints.<\/p>\n\n\n\nProfound\nthanks to not only a great eye surgeon, but to all of you who encouragingly\nshared your experiences. It\u2019s good\nthat night driving is a pleasure instead of a chore, and driving home tonight\nwith intermittent downpours I discovered happily that I could once again\nnavigate dark and wet roads. For the\nlast year, if it started raining when I was driving at night I would pull over\nas soon as it was safe. Halos and\nstarburst effect from oncoming headlights were merely a hassle, but when that\nwas multiplied by reflections of headlights and taillights on wet pavement, the\nworld on the other side of my windshield turned into a kaleidoscope. No more.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
I\u2019m looking\nforward to gazing through an optical sight and seeing a red dot instead of a\nred smear, streak, or starburst. The\nworld no longer looks like a smoke-filled room.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
I only miss\none thing about those cataracts with their visual effects\u2026<\/p>\n\n\n\n
