The Evil Princess has asked me to remind all y\u2019all of a couple of training opportunities we\u2019re offering. I\u2019ll be teaching them personally. We\u2019re going to be having a MAG-20 classroom program in Iowa (near Cedar Rapids) on September 28-29. Each of those weekend days will run ten hours, focusing on armed citizens\u2019 rules of engagement when employing lethal force in defense of self or others at home, at work, or when lawfully carrying while out and about.\u00a0 The class covers legal, ethical, and tactical elements.\u00a0 It will be hosted by Ernie Traugh, owner of Cedar Valley Outfitters <\/a>and a top instructor and advocate for gun owner\u2019s civil rights.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

On October 3-6, Thursday through Sunday, I\u2019ll be teaching a MAG-40 at the Sand Burr Gun Ranch<\/a> in Rochester, Indiana, not far from Indianapolis.\u00a0 Founded by the great shooter, instructor, and gunsmith Denny Reichard, whom we sadly lost a few months ago, Sand Burr is now run by Denny\u2019s daughter Ashley Gibbons and her husband Austin Gibbons, who will be working the firing line.\u00a0 MAG-40 encompasses the entire MAG-20 classroom lecture plus about 500 rounds of live fire working strong hand only, weak hand only, various two-handed stances, shooting-from-cover, speed reloading, and assorted other skill sets.\u00a0 <\/p>\n\n\n\n

The weekend of October 12-13, I\u2019ll be in Nashville teaching another MAG-20 classroom program. This will be the first time I\u2019ve taught in Tennessee since our former annual host, Tom Givens, closed his range business moved his excellent RangeMaster<\/a> training company to Florida. This one will be hosted by Dr. Sherman House<\/a>, whose reputation is high in the tactical training community.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

For the instructors among you, I\u2019ll be joined by Marty Hayes and hosted by highly regarded California instructor Wesley Lagomarsino<\/a> for a Deadly Force Instructor class. That one covers five days for a total of forty-plus hours.\u00a0 Hayes is the founder of both the famous Firearms Academy of Seattle<\/a> and the Armed Citizens Legal Defense Network<\/a>, the first of the post-self-defense support groups for armed good guys and gals who are wrongfully accused in criminal or civil court after a successful act of self-defense. The course includes not only the critical material to teach, but how to teach it and document it, and how to effectively testify as a material witness for one of your graduates who stands wrongly accused after following your teachings, and <\/em>the function of expert witness in such cases that I\u2019ve been doing for more than forty years and Marty has done for more than 30. The Deadly Force Instructor class is in Sacramento, California on November 6 through 10, a Wednesday through Sunday.
