Many a gun owner in the area was saddened when <a href=\"https:\/\/www.unionleader.com\/news\/business\/riley-s-sports-shop-closes\/article_0dc15043-ebca-5471-b599-94d43115f3c8.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" aria-label=\"Riley\u2019s closed their doors (opens in a new tab)\">Riley\u2019s closed their doors<\/a> last month.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The business\nstarted small in Manchester, NH, but gunsmith Dick Riley soon bought a place\njust north in Hooksett, and soon expanded.&nbsp;\nRichard was a powerful activist for Second Amendment rights and\neventually became president of the National Rifle Association.&nbsp; His successor Ralph Demicco followed Dick\u2019s\nexample of public service, joining with Elaine Frank at the New Hampshire\nFirearms Safety Coalition to create a model suicide prevention program that has\nspread around the country.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Those of us\nwho were regular customers will cherish the memories.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Riley\u2019s Sport Shop in Hooksett, NH, was my favorite gun shop for many years.
