Attendance\nwas huge. One gun guy who was there thought it might have reached 100,000\npeople in attendance. I heard 50,000\nfrom another observer. The most commonly quoted figure is 22,000. Still tens of thousands of well-behaved,\norderly, law abiding Gun People. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
The many\npolice present must have felt like The Maytag Repairman, with nothing to do.\nI\u2019m told a single arrest was made, reportedly a young female Antifa who refused\nto take off her mask (illegal in public there). \nGun people are reporting that for the most part the police were smiling\nand friendly, and at worst unfailingly polite, with some uniformed deputies\nactually joining the march with the pro-gun crowd. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
I\u2019m sure it\ndidn\u2019t change the mind of Democrat Ralph Northam, the blackface-wearing\ngovernor of Virginia, who is leading the charge for a spate of Draconian laws\nthat would criminalize the possession of certain firearms. I thought the best line of the event was from\nthe gun person who characterized it as \u201cVirginians fighting the war of Northam\naggression.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Some on our\nside feel the open-carried long guns were over the top. (I couldn\u2019t help but\nnotice how many cameras were drawn to the guy carrying the Barrett Light\nFifty.)<\/p>\n\n\n\n
On the one\nhand, some pro-gun folks feel it\u2019s antagonistic and belligerent.
