<\/a>I first met\nChuck in the 1970s, when he was head of training at Jeff Cooper\u2019s famous\nfacility, Gunsite. Chuck was still\ncompeting then, skillful enough to earn a slot on the US National Team of IPSC,\nthe International Practical Shooting Confederation. He leaves behind a large body of written\narticles \u2013 for some time, he was editor of SWAT magazine \u2013 and several books\nthat can be found on Amazon, including the fourth edition of Gun Digest Book of Combat Handgunnery.<\/em> <\/p>\n\n\n\n Chuck was a\ndecorated Vietnam combat vet with the scars from enemy bullets on his body. A\nhighly accomplished shooter, he was one of the few men I\u2019ve seen perform the\nsupposedly impossible \u201cone second reload\u201d of a .45 pistol. I knew him as a patient coach and excellent\ndiagnostician. I can tell you from one\npersonal experience back in the \u201870s that he was also a good man to have on\nyour side when serious danger reared its head.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Taylor\nretired last year, and had all too short a time to enjoy that. His ashes will be scattered in a National\nForest where he spent a lot of time hunting.<\/p>\n\n\n\n I know\npeople who credit their survival to what they learned from Chuck.
