Your\nspeakers will be gun owners\u2019 civil rights activists from all over the country,\nwith proven records of success in lobbying for your rights at the grassroots\nlevel.&nbsp; <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>A sample:\none pro tip is to write personalized letters to your legislative\nrepresentatives, not just copy some boilerplate sent to you by an\norganization.&nbsp; Virtually every single\nlegislator and legislative staff person I\u2019ve discussed it with tells me\n\u201cboilerplate\u201d is of low value to the decision-makers in the State Houses.&nbsp; Send them a personal letter and they\u2019re more\nlikely to read it.&nbsp; Better still, try a <em>hand-written letter, <\/em>short and polite\nand to the point. The thinking seems to be that any constituent who actually\ntakes pen in hand cares enough about the issue has something to say that the\nlegislator wants to know.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The workshop\nis free, but you do have to register for it beforehand.
