Lori\nLightfoot, the liberal anti-gun mayor of Chicago, said \u201cF— You\u201d publicly to\nthe President of the United States of America. \nA few days later, she publicly called for the firing of a Chicago police\nofficer who, in the middle of a riot<\/s> protest, raised a couple of middle\nfingers to rioters who were screaming obscenities and throwing objects at\nhim. \u201cConduct unbecoming,\u201d don\u2019t you\nknow. \u201cProtected speech for me but not for thee.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The very\nsame mayor has publicly urged citizens not to use guns to defend themselves but\nto instead call 9-1-1 and wait for police response \u2026 when the police are too\nthinly spread and politically handcuffed to prevent looting even when on the\nscene. Mayor Lightfoot and her wife and\nfamily, of course, have ample round-the-clock protection from their\ntaxpayer-funded security detail. \u201cArmed security for me and mine, but not for\nyou and yours.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Two cities\nnow have pulled back and surrendered police stations to the mob, rather than\nuse force to protect them. Keep an eye\non the Seattle situation, where protesters have taken control of one such\nfacility and the six-block area around it, uncontested by police. The\nprotesters have armed people among them and are calling for more. That six-block area includes private\nhomes. Having reportedly had their food\nstolen by the homeless (more delicious irony), the occupiers may eventually\nturn to forcibly entering those homes for food and Heaven knows what else. That\u2019s not going to end well.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
