That would be a mistake, because it\u2019s at the\ngrassroots levels that we\u2019re winning most of the battles.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>As we smile\nwarmly at our victories in the Supreme Court of the United States, we need to\nremember that <em>Heller v. District of\nColumbia <\/em>and <em>McDonald v. City of\nChicago <\/em>began their journeys to caselaw in the lower courts.&nbsp; Several good examples of that are underway\nnow.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The ability to responsibly carry a loaded and concealed handgun in public has saved the lives of many, many ordinary citizens.\u00a0 The inability to do so has, in turn, led to heart-breaking tragedies: horrendous murders that could have been stopped if only the competent people present had been allowed to be legally armed.\u00a0 Consider the famous cases of <a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" aria-label=\"Nikki Goeser (opens in a new tab)\" href=\"https:\/\/www.inquisitr.com\/836115\/nikki-goeser-how-gun-control-killed-my-husband\/\" target=\"_blank\">Nikki Goeser<\/a> and <a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" aria-label=\"Susanna Gratia-Hupp (opens in a new tab)\" href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Suzanna_Hupp\" target=\"_blank\">Susanna Gratia-Hupp<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The Second Amendment Foundation is involved, often with other gun groups, in enhancing public and personal safety by ending unfair laws and policies which limit concealed carry to the rich, famous, and politically connected.\u00a0 <a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" aria-label=\"One such challenge in the news  (opens in a new tab)\" href=\"https:\/\/www.saf.org\/saf-fpc-challenging-restrictive-n-y-city-carry-law-in-federal-lawsuit\/\" target=\"_blank\">One such challenge in the news <\/a>these days focuses on New York City.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>And another <a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" aria-label=\"focuses on the State of New Jersey (opens in a new tab)\" href=\"https:\/\/www.saf.org\/saf-files-federal-lawsuit-challenging-restrictive-new-jersey-carry-laws\/\" target=\"_blank\">focuses on the State of New Jersey<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>More information can be found at <a href=\"http:\/\/www.saf.org\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" aria-label=\" (opens in a new tab)\">www.saf.org<\/a>. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Stay in the\nfight, folks, and join and support those who are fighting for you.
