{"id":6699,"date":"2021-02-28T09:00:00","date_gmt":"2021-02-28T14:00:00","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.backwoodshome.com\/blogs\/MassadAyoob\/?p=6699"},"modified":"2021-02-24T21:12:28","modified_gmt":"2021-02-25T02:12:28","slug":"the-spirit-of-annie-oakley-is-alive-and-well","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.backwoodshome.com\/blogs\/MassadAyoob\/the-spirit-of-annie-oakley-is-alive-and-well\/","title":{"rendered":"THE SPIRIT OF ANNIE OAKLEY IS ALIVE AND WELL"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>We are seeing a lot more women buying guns, carrying guns, and shooting in competition.&nbsp; This is A Good Thing.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In the world of women\u2019s empowerment, the last bastion of \u201cSusie Housewife Mentality\u201d has been the last stereotype to fall.&nbsp; \u201cLet the Man Of The House manage the checkbook and do the voting and be the sole breadwinner\u201d has been gone for a long time, but \u201cGuns are only for men\u201d is a BS stereotype that seems to still be with us, though fortunately it\u2019s on its last legs.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Two recent events in Florida underscore this.\u00a0 <a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" href=\"https:\/\/www.shootingwire.com\/releases\/4d7a972c-3eea-4022-aa1e-3345955fc43f\" target=\"_blank\">Lena Miculek won the Florida Open in PCC<\/a> (Pistol Caliber Carbine) competition \u2013 not just \u201chigh lady,\u201d but beating all the men present.\u00a0 This young woman is the daughter of two great champions:\u00a0 Kay Clark-Miculek, who has won countless shooting titles in her own right, and world champion and modern shooting legend Jerry Miculek.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Meanwhile, my first <a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" href=\"https:\/\/massadayoobgroup.com\/\" target=\"_blank\">MAG-40 class<\/a> of the year in North Florida saw one of the females in class come in as overall top shot.\u00a0 Shannon Pable, shooting a Glock 19 MOS with an SRO Carry Optic, shot a perfect 300\/300 on the sixty-shot police style qualification on the last day.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The FOG (<strong>F<\/strong>at <strong>O<\/strong>ld <strong>G<\/strong>eezer) who writes this blog applauds these outcomes.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>We are seeing a lot more women buying guns, carrying guns, and shooting in competition.&nbsp; This is A Good Thing.
