We were hosted by the <a href=\"http:\/\/triggerpressersunion.com\/index.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Trigger Pressers Union<\/a> in Pittsburgh.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>I always enjoy teaching a \u201ctrain the trainers\u201d program. Each candidate makes a presentation \u2013 you can\u2019t deem people competent to instruct if you haven\u2019t seen them instruct \u2013 and they all finished the forty-plus-hour program well.&nbsp;&nbsp;Co-instructor Art Joslin, JD and I were pleased with the outcome.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The satisfying thing with a class like this is what some trainers call \u201cthe oil-stain effect.\u201d&nbsp;&nbsp;A drop of oil lands on a piece of linen.&nbsp;&nbsp;It spreads and spreads.&nbsp;&nbsp;Information is passed from the instructor-trainer to the new instructor, who passes it on to each trainee, and somewhere in that third generation of the transmission the knowledge prevents a tragedy and saves lives and careers.&nbsp;&nbsp;Much like the old example of the ripples of a stone landing in the water.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Our survey of the graduates, most of whom were teaching already, indicated that in the next year the information we shared over that week will reach almost thirteen thousand of&nbsp;<em>their<\/em>&nbsp;students.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>I find that particularly satisfying.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>We\u2019ll be doing at least one more of those in 2023: our schedule for the coming year should be posted soon at <a href=\"https:\/\/massadayoobgroup.com\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">https:\/\/massadayoobgroup.com<\/a>.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Last week we graduated another DFI class of more than thirty Deadly Force Instructors from all over the country, spanning Hawaii to the East Coast.
