I was glad I was scheduled to go north of North Pole.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Not north of <em>the <\/em>North Pole, mind you, but to Fairbanks which is slightly north of the town of North Pole, Alaska.&nbsp; I was hosted by an excellent firearms training school, C4Training at <a href=\"http:\/\/www.c4traininggroup.com\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">www.c4traininggroup.<\/a><a href=\"http:\/\/www.c4traininggroup.com\">com<\/a>.&nbsp; C4 is headed by Chuck Inderrieden, a veteran soldier and cop. Our MAG40 class (<a href=\"http:\/\/massadayoobgroup.com\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">http:\/\/massadayoobgroup.com<\/a>) had unusually high average scores at the end of the week, due in substantial part I think to the fact that many of them had trained with Chuck before. He\u2019s an outstanding instructor.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>I feasted on elk, halibut, several variations of tuna and some excellent bear sausage. The accommodations were the best I\u2019ve ever experienced in Alaska, an AirBnB called <a href=\"https:\/\/www.airbnb.com\/rooms\/933259699573350362\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">North Point Cottage<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cJacket weather\u201d \u2013 just cool enough to warrant a garment to cover your pistol \u2013 was much appreciated.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>At home the daily highs were averaging about 98 degrees Fahrenheit and occasionally hitting three digits before the tremendous humidity added to the heat factor.
