Professor Yamane and his Gun Culture 2.0 blog and book have done a tremendous service to the truth of the polarized \u201cgun debate.\u201d A self-identified liberal and sociology professor, his \u201cSociology of the Gun Class\u201d and, to a much farther reaching extent, his writings and videos in this field have brought welcome elements of logic and ethics to this tremendously heated discussion.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>We\u2019ll be reviewing Yamane\u2019s powerful and important book here soon, but in the meantime, those of you already familiar with his excellent work are invited to chime in.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>By the way, I also had a piece of the action in one of <a href=\"https:\/\/gunculture2point0.com\/2012\/11\/12\/massad-ayoob-checks-the-accuracy-of-my-handgun\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Professor Yamane\u2019s funnier blogs<\/a>.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>A kind reader recently reminded me of something Professor David Yamane had written a while ago.
