{"id":8927,"date":"2025-09-08T09:00:00","date_gmt":"2025-09-08T13:00:00","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.backwoodshome.com\/blogs\/MassadAyoob\/?p=8927"},"modified":"2025-08-26T14:10:07","modified_gmt":"2025-08-26T18:10:07","slug":"use-the-right-ammo","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.backwoodshome.com\/blogs\/MassadAyoob\/use-the-right-ammo\/","title":{"rendered":"USE THE RIGHT AMMO!"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>Having recently gotten in 1200 rounds of Speer Gold Dot carry ammo, a thousand 124-grain +P 9mm and a couple hundred .38 Special Short Barrel, I\u2019m reminded of the importance of having vetted guns for serious business with the ammo they\u2019ll be used with \u201cfor real\u201d instead of for practice.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Some guns simply won\u2019t run with certain ammo. A couple of my .22 pistols, a little Ruger LCP-II and a Glock 44, run reliably only with CCI Mini-Mag cartridges.&nbsp;&nbsp;So long as I\u2019m careful to work around their \u201cdietary needs\u201d and \u201cammo intolerances,\u201d no problem.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>There are lots of other things to watch for, and you\u2019ll find several of them in <a href=\"https:\/\/www.backwoodshome.com\/use-the-right-ammunition\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">this article<\/a> I did in 2011 for this blog\u2019s host,\u00a0<em>Backwoods Home\u00a0<\/em>magazine.
