The Evil Princess and I just finished up a great fifty-year reunion of shooters from the early days of practical pistol matches. Hosted by Bill and Joyce Wilson at their Circle WC Ranch in Texas, it encompassed two days of shooting the old-fashioned way: 1911 pistols, in the kind of holsters we wore half a century ago, and fixed time events because back then we didn\u2019t have electronic gunshot timers. The shooters were divided into segments based on age: I was in the 70s bracket, separate from those young kids in their 60s.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Age 50 in the International Defensive Pistol Association puts you in Senior class. Hit 65 and you\u2019re in Super Senior. I think people my age deserve our own Superannuated classification.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
