Weekly Giveaway Rules

  1. Due to the prohibitive cost of international postage, winners of the My Backwoods Home Giveaway (Giveaway) must have either a mailing address within the United States or an APO/FPO address. However, if you live outside the USA, we'd still like to see your selfie or photo if you care to post it to our page, but please omit the tag mentioned below.
  2. Enter the Giveaway by visiting our Facebook page at https://www.facebook.com/bhmag. Leave one of the following in a comment to our current 'My Backwoods Home' contest post that is pinned to the top of our page:
    • A selfie or photo of yourself holding a copy of Backwoods Home Magazine.
    • A photo of your homestead, a self-reliance project, your garden, your livestock, or one of you doing something or next to something related to self-reliance or homesteading, along with a short description.
  3. Once each week we will randomly select a winner from all eligible photos. We will announce the winner in the new, weekly Giveaway post amd will send them a message from "Backwoods Home." Please be sure to check your "Other" message box as that is where Facebook puts most of our messages.
  4. Winners must respond via email to mybhm[at]backwoodshome.com before the next drawing and must include their full name and mailing address, including zip code. Do not post personal information on Facebook! The winning photo will be included as the sample in the following week's Giveaway post, but is not eligible to win again.
  5. Winners will receive a free one-year subscription or renewal (6 issues) to the Backwooods Home Magazine print issue beginning with the next issue to be mailed. (Value $24.95)
  6. A new weekly contest will begin each Wednesday when the new Giveaway notice is posted.
  7. The (not so) fine print:
    • Photos not as described above, and photos mis-posted or added to old Giveaway posts will not be eligible to win. Backwoods Home Magazine is not responsible for late or misdirected notices or messages or mis-poste photos.
    • No cash equivalent or substitution of prize.
    • All entrants grant to Backwoods Home Magazine the unrestricted right to use their name, city, state, and posted photos and captions/descriptions for advertising and promotional purposes and to publish them in print and electronic issues of Backwoods Home Magazine. There is no compensation for said use.
    • This Giveaway is in no way sponsored, endorsed, administered by, or associated with Facebook.
    • Backwoods Home and all entrants release Facebook from all liability, however named.
