Now-retired Federal Judge Roger Benitez made so many pro-gun decisions that many in the gun owners’ civil rights movement came to call him Saint Benitez.
At the 2026 Gun Rights Policy Conference in Dallas last month, sponsored by the Second Amendment Foundation and the Citizens’ Committee for the Right to Keep and Bear Arms I got to meet this man and chat with him for a while.
Pay particular attention to his vignette about a friend of his who survived a horrendous attack because he had enough ammunition when he needed more than ten rounds to stop his vicious assailant. Pay attention also to his discussion of how the Bill of Rights was actually formulated.
You’ll see why they call him Saint Benitez.
