The Evil Princess and I were married last week.  I hope you’ll be happy for us.

It was a simple ceremony in Chicagoland. She’s a native of Chicago (I maintain I rescued her, though she still says “kidnapped”) and since we’re both Second Amendment rights activists, it pleased us all the more to do it in “conquered territory.”

It was an open carry wedding, highly unusual in those environs but legal there on private property. If our kind of folks did the social register thing, the newspaper announcement might have read, “The bride wore a Glock 19 9mm, and the groom wore a Smith & Wesson 1911 .45 ACP, accessorized by a .38 Special Smith & Wesson Model 442.”

No one really noticed. One reason might be that we both wore black. (Why bride and groom would wear black is a matter we’ll leave to speculation for now.)  The guns and holsters were black too. They blend in rather discreetly.

The officiator didn’t seem to notice the hardware. Neither did the mother of the bride, but I maintain this it was because her shotgun blocked her view of my hip…

  1. Congratulations to you both! I guess my invitation got lost in the mail.
I thought that at the pin shoot, something seemed different. Now I know why.
I hope you both have many more years together.

  2. Congratulations Mas! Did your vows include a promise to love, honor, and provide covering fire? Best wishes to you both as you move forward in your life together.

  3. Congratulations from the People’s Republic of Taxachusetts!!! Wishing you two all the happiness in the world! 🙂

  4. This is great news! Clearly, y’all have been in love for years. I saw how the two of you interacted at my MAG-40 class. You guys adore each other. Mas, I wish you would’ve been wearing your legendary Glock 30, but since you were in Chicago, the 1911 was a nice touch.! Congratulations and I wish you both happiness and contentment!

  5. My brother married his third wife at the bar at the local VFW. Folks thought that was a little unusual. He told everyone that he married his first two wives in a church and he ended up at the bar, so he thought that this time he was just start out at the bar.

    Congratulations, Mas.

  6. Tricia and I offer Mas our most heart felt congratulations, and our best wishes to Gail. A great team in the business, and I’m sure a great team in life.

  7. One of the few times that I have read this blog that it was a time to celebrate rather than contemplate!
Congratulations! May your life together be a happy one and may you never run out of “ammunition!”

  8. Congratulations! Forget the society pages, I’d be more curious as to where you registered for wedding gifts and what was on them!

  9. Heartfelt congratulations to two great Americans. BTW, you missed the 10th anniversary of District of Columbia v. Heller (June 26, 2008), but what’s a little rounding among friends? Both are dates to remember and celebrate!

  10. Congratulation Mas & Gail! This is just wonderful news. I wish you many wonderful years of happiness and joy in your continuing journey together.

  11. Mas, was just wondering how long it was going to take you to wise-up and claim that prize Granny was slow, but, Granny was old. Congratulations to both of you. Keep your sights clean and your powder ddry.

  12. Congratulations!

Bride’s mother’s shotgun? Wasn’t there a Supreme Court ruling that a wedding wasn’t legal if the gun wasn’t actually loaded?

But seriously . . . I wish you every happiness for your future together.
