It’s no secret that Michael Bloomberg’s “Everytown” crusade against gun ownership has been known to bend the truth. Remember when they listed the slain Boston Marathon Bomber as a “victim of gun violence”?

Now comes more mendacity.  Apparently, in a blurb railing against transfer of firearms by other than licensed dealers, they pirated watermarked pictures from a legitimate dealer in Vermont, who makes sure that all his sales go through FFL licensees with NICS checks. Kudos to guns.com for breaking the story.

A press release issued on behalf of the defamed gun shop is here.

Rachel Baird appears to be the gun shop’s lawyer of record on this matter, and it looks as if Attorney Mitchell Lake, one of her associates, is also on the case on behalf of Crossfire Arms.  Though I’ve only spoken with Ms. Baird on the phone, she seems passionately interested in getting justice for the gun shop owner. I’ve met Mr. Lake in person. Like any good lawyer, he knows the rules of the Court inside and out…but, more important, he knows the issues in this case inside and out, and as a staunch advocate of Second Amendment Rights, he will demonstrate the very definition of “zealous advocacy.” Mr. Bloomberg, of course, can afford to field whole covens of lawyers…but none of them will be able to change the truth.

Go get ‘em, Mitch and Rachel.  This is gonna be good.

  1. It sure wouldn’t hurt to take Bloomberg down a notch. But with his ego and resources and lies I don’t expect much will change.

  2. It is clear that “everytown” is located squarely in the centre of B.S. county, Nonsenseland!

Go get those shysters, Mitch and Rachel!

  3. In ads supporting I-594 in Washington, Everytown’s ads used similar deceptive pictures to imply that legitimate online businesses were selling firearms across state borders without background checks.

To this group, disarming by any means necessary is legitimate.

  4. Why isn’t this surprising? It would be nice to think that a large amount of money could be extracted from Bloomberg but it probably won’t happen. Hopefully the PR against “Everytown” and the other anti-gun programs will enlighten some folks who are unaware of the tactics being used.

Did anyone else see the see the story about ‘Jen the Archer’ and the death threats she has been getting for teaching kids to hunt? Maybe BHM could pick up her story? Sorry for my digression.

  5. I’ll second that remark, go get’em. When Bloomberg has to bend or distort the truth. Then Bloomberg has lost.

  6. Bloomberg, et al can’t change the truth but they can ignore it.

When it comes to protecting the Collective, truth doesn’t matter as long as you can convince a majority of people that what you are saying is the truth. It’s the old Chico Marx line: “Who you gonna believe? Me, or your own eyes?” and too many people would rather ignore harsh reality and truth as long as someone is willing to sing them lullabies keep telling them what they should think and believe.

I have a personal rule I call the “Boy George” rule; if you gotta say what it is, then it ain’t! This applies to just about everything coming from the Left and those things they support: The “Peoples Republic of…”, “Beloved Leader”, etc. Bloomberg is the latest in a line of rich Leftist telling you what to do, and since he’s gotta call his lying activist gun-banning group “Everytown”, then that should tell us immediately what it actually is good for.

Praise the Lord, and pass the ammunition, and we’ll all stay free!

  7. I hope nothing but the best for Crossfire Arms. Bloomberg will be, of course, insulated from this and I fear this may become a quite prohibitively expensive and drawn-out process for this small retailer. The whole David and Goliath thing. I’m sure that’s what the Bloomberg gang is hoping for.

I say we do our part by shopping through Crossfire Arms (no, I’m in no way affiliated). This small company is going to need all the financial resources they can get.

  8. I know Mr. Lake personally, and I’m here to tell you, that this will hurt “Everytown” far worse than their lies could ever hurt the 2A community. He’s like a rabid wolverine when he gets his little fangs in a juicy morsel like this one. Heaven help ’em.

  9. Mas, I Googled Crossfire Arms out of curiosity via Mozilla Firefox today (Feb 3, ’15), and I lost the M.F. function right after clicking off. Totally unusual. Others may report same. Maybe you want to delete this? I don’t want to open any floodgates. Thx.

  10. No other reports received here, Steve; if you were Googling, I’ve got no idea what got clicked on. Thanks for the heads-up, though.

  11. “The Alternative”.
This really irked me and wanted to share my opinion. Since this column has had a chance to dwindle down I’ll gripe off topic here, that okay?
Ferguson Missouri is testing a Rube Goldberg toy that “attaches to the officer’s gun in under a second”. When the gun is fired the bullet goes into and carries a ping pong ball size non-lethal projectile to strike the felon who is attempting to murder the police officer. I assume the toy is good for just one shot and will have no effect on eject/feed of the gun.
Couldn’t they save time, money and police officer’s lives by broadcasting in all forms of media and gangster rap “music” that attacking a police officer is suicidal and rioting will result in VERY LONG jail sentences? Damn, I sure do come up with some silly ideas sometimes. Sorry…

  12. I just read this new “less than lethal” projectile will perform like an “air bag for a bullet.” Just what LEO needs when the SHTF – more to think about. Very near to where I live, we just had an OIS, where the officer is already being crucified for shooting a fugitive who confronted and attacked. I know this device will insinuate itself into the news here. All these “experts” should be put through some force-on-force training exercises. I’m sure you all saw what happened to the activist named Maupin who did it. Absolutely NONE of them have a clue as to how fast “it” really happens. “Walk in their shoes.”

  13. One measure of how fast stuff happens is that Bill Jordan could draw a revolver and fire accurately in .27 seconds. A bad guy, especially one with the drop on you, can hit you even faster, with various weapons. Good luck with ping-pong tactics.
