Well, after quite a scare, Will and I are sore, stiff, and slow, but on the mend. Two days ago Will baled and help stack 634 bales of hay. Luckily, David and his girlfriend’s family were on hand to help stack on the wagon and in the barn. Will’s plenty sore today, and so am I. But our fall could have been a whole lot worse and we’re grateful it wasn’t. We hurt, but that’ll pass with time. Thank you so much, my Backwoods Home Family, for all your prayers and good wishes for the both of us.

Yes, we’re taking it “easy,” but still doing. If you don’t, you don’t heal very fast. I’ve learned that from many past experiences. Right now, my “doing” is baby steps, but I’m confident I’ll take bigger ones as I heal up. I’ll do my blog questions tomorrow evening and try to get caught up!

  7. Go Jackie go!!! What a great picture. If it weren’t for the corset, nobody would even suspect you two had taken that terrible fall. Here’s hoping and praying for a speedy recovery!

  11. Heard about your fall via Mas’ blog. I’m very glad to hear that you’re getting over it.

It’s a very good idea to take things slow and steady; rushing your recovery would only make it take longer.

    Take care.

Dear Jackie, I just got through reading Mas’s blog and found out about you’re accident. You’re a lucky gal! The Lord was looking out for y’all that day as he does everyday. I just wanted to wish you well and a speedy recovery. I’ve read and enjoyed your articles for a long time and look forward to next issue of Backwoods Home. As a Senior now, I don’t get on my roof anymore, not that I couldn’t, I don’t want to tempt fate as they say! I’ll just get a younger person to give me a hand! You take care!
    Sincerely,

  14. Look at you two, & it’s nice to see you up and moving around, slow but sure ~ you are right, moving the best that you can is good medicine…….the corset looks annoying, but I imagine without it would be worse…

    Hang in there!

  15. Beth,

Sorry you couldn’t get my book through Amazon, but you can just click on the logo in my blog and have it sent right from Backwoods Home Magazine.

  16. Thanks for the update – what a relief! You two look great in that picture, and you’re right back where you’re the happiest – in your beautiful garden. Best wishes for continued healing to both of you.

  17. I’ve been so worried! So glad that you are up and moving. I had terrible thoughts of you confined to a bed. I’ve been checking everyday! Jackie, I tried to buy your book through Amazon and they said that they were not sure when it would be back in stock. Hmmmm, I buy most everything through there so I was dissappointed. Shoppng is so easy through there.

Anyway, so glad you are up and running… well, maybe not running but knowing you pretty soon.
