In a time of year where even secular Americans traditionally get into the spirit of brotherly love, there seems to be more than enough murderous hatred to go around.

Ironically, love of family got misplaced in the Pacific Northwest when relatives of a cop-killer aided and abetted him after the murders of four cops. They had ignored his statements around Thanksgiving that he wanted to kill police…and wanted to mass murder children at a school, or perhaps open fire at people at random at a crowded intersection.

Perhaps even more ironically, in a season steeped in religion, the killer has been linked to both Nation of Islam and a weird sect that calls itself Black Foot Soldiers, who consider police terrorists who must be assassinated, and are celebrating the cop-killings.  Follow such links at your peril: they will lead you to a cesspool of racial hatred and filthy, twisted thinking that flows in both directions. Nor is all such madness racial: late in the comments that follow the immediate previous blog entry below, you’ll find the link to another recent cop-killing, this one in the South, where the man on film committing this mindless murder is painted in the news as a young Ward Cleaver gone wrong. He, too, has at least one relative of whom we must ask ourselves, “What was he thinking?!?”

Evil, murder, and madness have always been with us. It just seems in the last five or six weeks that more of it has occupied our national attention. Sloughing away responsibility continues too, as we see in Howard Nemerov’s link to the updated report on the Virginia Tech massacre.

Sorry this corner of the Backwoods Home Blogs is so far out of the stream of Christmas Spirit. Murderous SOBs in the news keep getting in the way.  Prepare for the worst so you can enjoy the best. Today (Sunday) I shot a pistol match with friends. It sharpened defensive skills, and it was time well spent with good people who have a solid grasp on core human values such as, oh, the protection of the innocent from evil.

Forgive me, but that’s about as close to segueing back into Christmas Season as I’m likely to get this week. Right now, I can’t offer anything much more cheerful than a picture of a dead cop-killer, forwarded by a brother in the northwest. (Cops have cell phone cameras, too.)

  1. It’s like what was warned 10-15 years ago: Islamic clerics were getting chaplain status to enter prisons – then recruit non-Moslem inmates and convert them to Islam and radical politics. Or – as an NYPD detective who’s studied it since 9/11 warned – many inmates convert to what he called “Prislam” (Prison Islam) while in prison.

  2. Mas,

This is a sad season for us all, IMO. I am rejoicing that one of “Prislam’s” followers has got his just reward, and respirations have ceased for him. I feel no pity for him, or his friend’s and loved ones. I do feel pity and compassion for the four officers, their families, friends, and brothers and sisters in blue, that should still be with us today.

Take care, stay safe and watch your six.

    Biker

  3. He looks so peaceful, don’t he? Kinda like he’s taking a widdle nap. Probably dreaming of the 72 virgins.

“Allahu Akhbar”, scumbag! Is it hot yet, MF’er!?

Anybody know if he really was a Muslim? That’s the first thought I had when I saw his picture; another one-man terriorist cell. Or did he just have “pre-traumatic stress syndrome”, too?

  4. First and most important, my thoughts and prayers are with the families and the department of the murdered officers.

I only see one entry hole. As a retired career cop (32 years) and former firearms instructor, what happened to double taps?

  5. As a former ambulance driver and cop, I have seen enough violence victims to last a lifetime. Better a photo of the perp than the victim(s). I have been teaching self-defense with a firearm with the “God forbid I might need to use it” philosophy for over 40 years.

Evil exists and it will always exist. We cannot explain it, justify it or defend it. We can only be prepared to defend ourselves and our loved ones against it.

God help those who perpetrate evil upon those who stand between them and the innocents.

  6. I hate giving a click to those sites, but you need to see it for yourself. Evil, Ignorance and Hate are not taking a holiday.

  7. Have you guys seen the “black footsoldiers” website ?? I clicked on the link above and was horrified at what there is. they are calling the W.A. cop-killer a martyr!!! what the hell how is this allowed? On one side the liberall-invested politics is prosecuting pastors for preaching the Bible and speaking out against teaching homosexuality in schools and on the other this kind of hate and racsist filth can go unpunished! Mas and all of you in the LE positions Be carefull, watch your backs, May God bless you and yours for the work you do.

  8. Entry wound seems a little low for it to be called an optimum hit. It obviously did the job though. They really need to move the x ring higher on B27s.

  9. As an observer of the World around us, one could easily come to the conclusion that people are becoming unhinged more often these days. There used to be some places where I felt “comfortable” being unarmed. Those days are gone.

  10. I can say right now that the criminal in this case was not a Muslim. Islam is not a racist, Blacks-only religion. Sadly, there are a number of what I would call Pseudo-Islamic cults that recruit from Blacks who are racist, Black-Supremacists, members of Criminal Organisations, etc; They may use Islamic terminology and symbols, but no informed Muslim outside of their criminal gang considers these people to be actual Muslims.

  11. Matt, Lance, etc.

NOI (Nation of Islam) has NOTHING to do with Islam. It is a cult started buy some guy named Wallace from Detroit that pronounced himself a god and messiah. The NOI is to Islam what the “Black Hebrews” are to Judaism.
