People have carried stuff in their pockets since there have been pockets, and have been carrying small handguns in those pockets since we’ve had guns that fit there.

One problem is that the gun can shift ots position around so you seem to have to chase the gun to grab it for the draw.  We want the gun to be stable. We don’t want it to fall out of the pocket. And we certainly don’t want the pocket holster to come out with the gun: the only way that will save your life in a gunfight is if it makes your criminal opponent laugh so hard he forgets to shoot you.

Enter the Holster Jack, a brilliantly simple solution that uses a composite rod in the front of the pocket holster to not only stabilize it in place, but to keep it from coming out with the gun when you draw.

I tried one for a week with a J-frame Smith & Wesson short barrel revolver, and had no problems with it.  Not a bad deal at all for forty bucks.  Go to https://holsterjack.com/ to see how to order one that fits your chosen pocket handgun.

  1. FWIW as was done a hundred years ago for pocket carry, a simple stitched-edge, button hole in the top center of the inside edge of a soft leather or fabric holster enables the user to then simply hand stitch an appropriate small button into the inner side of the pocket lining of each pair of trousers normally worn. No muss, no fuss, holster stays in pocket, unbutton it out when the day is done. Easy to also stitch leather or thick cloth onto the outer side of the holster if needed to breakup the outline of the holster. This does require the handgun to be inserted into the pocket and holster more carefully vs handgun into holster, holster into pocket as is commonly taught but it can be easily learned for sub-compact autos and J-frames.

  2. Now why didn’t we think of that?!?!
Mas, correct me if wrong but for its function, its basically like a adjustable or spring tension shower rod that holds onto the holster and wedges itself to the pocket top to bottom?
