Have you considered some kind of book, DVD or something else about your weekend events on the homesteading seminar for those that are unable to attend that we could purchase. Like for example how to make a hoop house DVD. Sounds like another project for you.

I can’t wait, I can’t wait, I can’t wait!!! I have been looking forward to this since the last one. What an experience it was with such a great group of people. It’s better than Christmas! See you soon, Jackie

Ruth Ann,
Yes, we have thought about it. Maybe that will be a future project for us. I’ll keep you posted.

Instead of making it another project for you, why don’t you trade someone that has video-making experience the chance to attend your seminar(s) for free in exchange for making a dvd of your class(es). It’s a win-win situation for everyone. And as you’re trading them instruction time for making the dvd, you’ll own the dvd rights, not them.
Just a thought.

Work exchange is a time honored way of people working together… but let me say that a group I have worked with a number of years with has run into problems multiple times exchanging tuition for videographer services. I don’t know why, but it never seemed to go smoothly for us.
Which is not to say don’t do it, just go in with eyes wide open. If exchanging tuition for videography it may be better to collect the tuition and hold it for delivery of the final product within X amount of time. If deadline missed, partial refund of tuition if received by a later deadline.
It’s different than exchanging a tractor for hay cutting – it’s more intangible. If you stiff someone hay cutting they can come over and take the tractor back (or at least try).

All,
Good news! My oldest son, Bill, is taking us up on the offer to video our seminar in exchange for attending. He asked us about coming and we knew he was great at shooting video so we worked out a swap in a few minutes. His camera is very good and I’ve seen some of his videos. And how neat is it that we don’t have to worry about having a problem with someone ripping us off, either.
