ABOUT THE COVER
     This issue’s cover of modern-day cowhands rounding up cattle was painted by BHM artist Don Childers. The red dirt is similar to that found in the Siskiyou Mountains of southern Oregon, location of Fall Creek Ranch, which is the subject of the lead article beginning on page 8. Childers has been the artist for Backwoods Home Magazine since 1989 when the magazine was founded.
