ABOUT THE COVER
It took a lot of thinking to come up with this issue’s cover, so I hope it works. The idea is to symbolize the economic squeeze a recession puts on ordinary people. Most of the articles in this issue show how to prepare for that squeeze. Dave Duffy modeled for this Don Childers’ painting by holding a rolled up paper ball in his outstretched hand. Don made the hand shake as if it were under tension as it squeezed, and he even made the ocean more ominous by adding tsunami waves under the fingers.
