Petition to make Our Glorious Leader and his family more safe

Sunday, January 13th, 2013

Via Joel: A petition to make the president and his family safer by establishing a gun-free zone around them.

It’s close to reaching the 25,000-signature threshhold that’s supposed to guarantee a response from a “policy expert” chosen by WH staff. And it’s still getting hundreds of signatures even on this slow ‘Net day.

That’ll be a response worth seeing …

  1. Kent McManigal Says:

It’s guaranteed to be a response just as lacking in honesty and sense and the response to the secession petitions.

  2. EN Says:

Love it, and we’ll post it other places.

  3. Jack Veggie Says:

I ‘m sure the ruling class will resume touring the countryside in convertible limos to exhibit their confidence in the gun fiats they propose.

  4. Laird Says:

I agree with Kent; I got one of those “responses”, too. They really don’t care what we think, do they?

Anyway, since they’ve just passed a law to give former presidents Secret Service protection (armed, of course) for LIFE, I’m sure this petition will find an honored home in the trash can.

  5. Mic Says:

While I certainly like the gesture being offered up here does anyone believe you would ever have a truly honest debate on the issue if you reached the 25K signatures? Does anyone believe they would suddenly stop their absurd double standard of guns are good for them and bad for us?

Again, I love stuff like this that illustrates the hypocrisy of the ruling elites, but make no illusion they don’t live in ignorance of what they are doing. They know EXACTLY what they are doing and why the want to disarm us and not themselves. This isn’t about showing them the error of their ways because they will never see that.

A petition to build a Death Star got over 34,000 signatures

Those who sign here petition the United States government to secure funding and resources, and begin construction on a Death Star by 2016.

By focusing our defense resources into a space-superiority platform and weapon system such as a Death Star, the government can spur job creation in the fields of construction, engineering, space exploration, and more, and strengthen our national defense.

and received an official response written by Paul Shawcross, the Chief of the Science and Space Branch at the White House Office of Management and Budget.

“This Isn’t the Petition Response You’re Looking For”

The Administration shares your desire for job creation and a strong national defense, but a Death Star isn’t on the horizon. Here are a few reasons:

    * The construction of the Death Star has been estimated to cost more than $850,000,000,000,000,000. We’re working hard to reduce the deficit, not expand it.

    * The Administration does not support blowing up planets.

    * Why would we spend countless taxpayer dollars on a Death Star with a fundamental flaw that can be exploited by a one-man starship?

Read the whole response. It’s classic, funny (e.g., “We’re working hard to reduce the deficit, not expand it”), and it’s obvious that Mr. Shawcross actually read the original petition.

  7. Samuel Adams Says:

“The Administration does not support blowing up planets.” Wow, I never thought there would be an advantage to sharing a planet with this administration, but here it is!
