Virtual Sports Show — support the gutsy vendors

Friday, February 1st, 2013

You remember the gutsy vendors who boycotted the Eastern Sports and Outdoor Show when its British organizers decided to appease the DiFi crowd and ban ugly guns at the last minute.

The size and power of the boycott eventually got the show shut down.

Now a virtual sports show just for the boycotting vendors is online. Please give them your support by buying outdoor supplies from them during this event. The sale includes a ton of stuff — archery equipment, boats, outdoor clothing, power sports equipment, gun gear (of course), taxidermy, guide services, food, log homes, and more.

The virtual show will continue later, with non-boycotting vendors allowed to join. But for now, the only companies in this show are the ones who risked their fortunes and their sacred honor on the boycott. And I believe most, if not all, are offering the special deals they would have presented at the ESOS. So go. Get good stuff. Thank them for standing up for your rights. (NFI on my part.)

Here’s the announcement from one of the virtual show’s organizers:

You Asked How You Could Help…
Here it is… Help support those who stood up for what was right!

We are reaching out to everyone we know in an effort to raise awareness for the Virtual Sports Show we put together for the vendors who have both sacrificed and lost so much over the cancellation of the Eastern Sports and Outdoors Show in Harrisburg, PA. Blog posts can be found at www.MyNEOD.com outlining the details of the boycott from start to present.

These vendors stood up for our 2nd Amendment rights and stood with us throughout the boycott of the show, many risking sure financial ruin over their decision. The stood up for our 2nd Amendment rights, and now we are trying to show them support by purchasing items they stocked and planned on selling at the show.

MyNEOD.com set up the Virtual Sports Show as a thank you, and a last ditch effort and helping hand to get these guys out of a hole and standing back on firmer ground.

The Eastern Sports and Outdoors Show exhibitor, REED Exhibitions has agreed to refund their booth costs, but many of them still had nonrefundable plane tickets, hotel rooms, an abundance of stock for sale at the show.

Thanks for your help… please head on over to www.MyNEODClassifieds.com and ask your friends to do the same.

IN ADDITION TO MENTIONING THE SHOW – A lot of people are still reporting that they are going to the [originally planned, physical ESOS] show, and companies like Bass Pro shops in Harrisburg are getting more and more calls of show goers asking if they are still selling tickets and running shuttles for the show. We really also need to help raise awareness that the show is CANCELLED.

PLEASE FORWARD THIS TO EVERYONE YOU KNOW! SAVE THEM A TRIP TO THE SHOW !

Thanks in advance for your help…

Well, well, well… Never would have seen the meatspace show, but now I’m going shopping!!! :)

Thanks Claire. My hubs specializes in shopping online (I detest it)… and this topic gives me a chance to praise a lot of the small gun (and associated items) folks online. The demand for ammo, in particular, has crashed more than one small business server… and so far, knock on wood, everyone we’ve dealt with has been absolutely stand up… going out of their way to send emails or call personally; faithfully filling backorders etc. I’ll get a list from him, of some of the companies… the ones I remember are BoTech Tactical and Tactical Wall.

I’ve already sent him the link to the virtual show. He’s napping right now…

Sort of off topic, but not really: http://www.krqe.com/dpp/news/crime/feds-seized-nearly-1500-guns-in-raid

Feds confiscated the inventory of a licenced firearms shop owner, but the article is trying to make it sound sneakier than it was. Here’s his website: http://www.adamsguns.com/

  4. Claire Says:

But Ellendra! “Its very scary in the fact that the school is so close by makes it seem even more dangerous.”

Hang the man! Draw and quarter him! Waterboard him to death! Because IT’S FOR THE CHILLLLLLLDREN!!!

Would love to support them, but their timing sucks — at least for me. Just tossed $200 into ye olde car.

    Rats!

  6. IndividualAudienceMember Says:

Me too, jed, only it’s 3800, for a 4×4 beater,… for when they can’t snowplow the roads or fill the giant pot-holes.

I posted the link at EricPetersAutos.com as a consolation prize, I hope that helps them some.

  7. MamaLiberty Says:

Unfortunately, I couldn’t find anything I needed and their prices are a tad high too. Will be looking for when they expand this, for sure.

    Yep … what jed said.
Only my expense was monthly bills and such.
My Only vehicle is a “beater”. [rolls eyes]

Is there someplace us poor folk could send them a note of thanks for their stand on Principles?

  9. Ellendra Says:

I had to fight to save my last $20 for seeds this year. I’m afraid anything I buy has to be with Bing points :(
